MALLA REDDY NARAYANA HOSPITAL CELEBRATES WORLD HEALTH DAY
Malla Reddy Narayana Hospital, one of the largest multi-specialty hospitals in Telangana, celebrated World Health Day by creating awareness about various diseases that are prevalent in the society. This year's theme was "Our Planet, Our Health”. This insightful seminar was organized to shed light on the significance of clean environment and the impact of pollution on human health. The hospital has taken various initiatives to create awareness about health and well-being.
Giving her note on the occasion, Dr. Ch. Preeti Reddy, Director, Malla Reddy Health City, said, “Choosing to be more mindful of the nature & environment, where we can find peace and tranquillity, is an effective way to experience good health. Nature provides us with a sense of balance in life because it reminds us what's more important. Pollution is hazardous to environment and human health as well. It can lead to a variety of diseases that are more prevalent in people living close to major sources of pollution. Pollutants from these facilities include particulate matter. These contaminants could cause respiratory infections like asthma and bronchitis as well cardiovascular problems due to high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat. Other effects may include cancer, diabetes, migraines. To stay safe from these fatal ailments, I urge everyone to do there bit in protecting our mother nature and thereby securing our future.”
Guest of Honour to the event, Dr. Sudha Ramana, Ex-DME & Director, MRMCW, MRNH, said,
“The world around us has a lot to do with how healthy or unhealthy we feel. The way that you live in your home contributes towards both mental and physical health. If we had cared for our environment better over time, then many of today's environmental problems may not exist. Luckily there are plenty of things that each one of us can do to help improve the situation: from recycling waste materials such as paper, glass and plastic bottles; using an electric car instead driving a petrol-driven vehicle; turning off lights when they're not needed anymore etc.; all these little steps add up! and can create a significant change in the society.”
Dr. Suryanarayana, Sr. Consultant Nephrologist, MRNH, delivered a keynote speech on “Indications & introduction of Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)”.
We can all make a difference by taking concrete actions that contribute towards preserving the earth's resources for future generations. Being pro-active about environmental protection will help create a better planet. We hope Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital will play an instrumental role in introducing many such initiatives in near future.
