Fall in Love With Yourself This Valentine's Day

Fall in Love With Yourself This Valentine's Day

Come February and the chants of ‘lovey-dovey’ are inescapable. While the ones in love relationships rejoice this month by celebrating each day,  this time of the year brings havoc to the singletons. The single ones feel the most lonely when Valentine's Day is round the corner. The red hearts and the red roses on display everywhere start looking as irritants and thus, the single ones end up binging on unhealthy snacks, reckless online shopping and lying on couch watching sloppy rom-coms.

How to beat the blues? How to cherish February without the ‘love’  quotient attached? Simply by loving nobody but yourself.

One needs love to rely on and loving yourself can be your biggest strength.  Instead of feeling weak in the knees when you see a couple spending happy times, embrace yourself and your single identity. Feel Independent and take charge of your life on your own terms.

Nutritionist Karishma Chawla of Eat Rite 24 / 7 has got numerous ways to actually beat the heat and make the most of this day, rather than indulging in self-loathing and lonely feeling. She states, “When you truly realise your potential and love and respect yourself, then only you become capable of transferring that love to others. Loving others begins with loving and appreciating yourself. A beautiful soul inside out is capable of giving and receiving love.”

Loving yourself sounds easier said than done. When you truly love yourself, you are more in charge of yourself. Social vile like sedentary lifestyle, over thinking and stress do not reside on your heart and mind.  Rather your mind is a happy place that culminates joy from small things. If you still have these viciousness attached, are unable to control your diet of unwanted fats, are unable to give up smoking or drinking or most favorably, tend to dwell in past all the time, then you have not loved yourself truly, my friend. The only day when all these become bygones and you do not care about them in the world is the day you have matured and fallen in love with your beautiful self.

If it still sounds dreamy to you, you can begin with some lifestyle changes.  These are great to implement and fun to work with.

Get active, join a gym or pick up a sport. You will meet like minded people at these places.  Working together is fun!

Realign your diet pattern. Eat in every two hours. Include generous fibres, carbohydrates,  proteins, green vegetables,  fruits and nuts. Replace refined flour with jowar, oats and quinoa.

Befriend water. Hydrate yourself with 3 litres of clean water to flush out toxins and bad thoughts.

Be the Yogi. Yoga, meditation and prayer can come as a great way to bust the stress. Be in the present moment. Live the life to your fullest. Do the things you like and which fulfill you as a person. Know what or who brings you negativity and instantly distance yourself from such things or people.

Lastly, be passionate about the great life bestowed upon you. Always be grateful for whatever you have. Be kind, help others, forgive easily and spread smiles. Be the change you wish to see. Become someone's inspiration.
