Advanced trauma care helps to save lives

The Trauma Society of India has selected ‘Current Concepts 2018 – Peri Articular Fracture’ (fracture around a joint) as the theme. Expert faculty from the United States of America, Australia, United Kingdomwill share the latest concepts and experiences with more than 500 Trauma Surgeons are attending. Telangana Orthopaedic Surgeons Association (TOSA) and Twin Cities Orthopaedic Society (TCOS) jointly organizing the convention. Commenting on the conference and its theme for this year, Dr Srinivas Kasha, organising secretary of the convention and senior orthopaedic surgeon said, “Advanced trauma care is helping save more number of lives each year, and in these changing times it is important Doctors are abreast with the modern developments in this field. We are happy to be hosting a international standard conference on trauma care and discuss the theme of Peri articular injuries which are notorious to leave the victims permanently disabled”.

 

 

The reason to choose this theme is because of the complexity of these injuries that lead tojoint stiffness and severe functional disability. The aim of any Orthopaedic Surgeon is to ensure patient returns to full mobility and pain-free care. In the conference, to be attended by the best brains in the field of trauma care, discussions will mainly be directed towards restoration of a function to near normalcy even among the severely injured individuals.
