SLG Hospitals launches Free BMD Scan for women
SLG Hospitals, which is one of the major healthcare facilities in the city has started a Free BMD (Bone Mineral Density) scan facility for women, on the occasion of International Women's Day. The scan, which costs about Rs.5,000/- regularly, is being provided for free to all women till the end of this month. Such a type of scanning is not available in any of the hospitals in the Nizampet area, except SLG.
Nizampet Mayor Kolan Neela Gopal Reddy attended the program of launch at the hospital premises at 11 am on Wednesday. She said, "women may face bone density deficiency after the age of 40. If neglected, it may lead to osteoporosis. So, every woman, who has crossed 40 years should undergo a BMD Scan every year, and know the state of their Bones. It is a big boon to the women of the Nizampet area that SLG Hospital is offering free BMD Scan for women on the occasion of International Women's Day".
Hospital Chairman Dandu Sivaramaraju, who also participated in the inauguration program said, "Women are at the forefront in all fields. They are taking care of the family and going ahead in their professional life. But, at the same time, most of them are neglecting their health. Keeping this in view, to benefit women and to encourage them towards taking care of their health, our hospital is providing BMD scans free of cost for women. All women should use this opportunity and must take care of their health".
