INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY CELEBRATED AT STAR HOSPITALS
12th May, Hyderabad: Star Hospitals, one of the leading healthcare providers in Telangana has celebrated the International Nurses Day to recognize the untiring efforts and selfless service of nurses who dedicate their lives to provide quality care to the patients. Dr. Ramesh Gudapati, Joint Managing Director, Star Hospitals, Dr. Anthony Basile, Medical Director, Ms. S. Kavitha, Nursing Superintendent, various other Doctors, Dignitaries & staff graced the event with their presence.
With a variety of programs, the event was filled with fun activities such as Dancing, Singing etc. An Art Gallery has also been set-up, wherein nurses showcased their artistic talent through beautiful paintings. For their exceptional service few nurses have been honoured with awards and surprise gifts.

Nurses work round-the-clock for their patients and sacrifice their personal time for them. It is important for people to realize that nurses are not just doing their job but they are also giving a part of themselves in order to help others heal. The hospital also organized an exclusive talk by team mates from other departments who talked about the significance of nursing and how nurses handle difficult situations.
Dr. Gopichand Mannam, Managing Director, Star Hospitals, sent a video message addressing to the nursing department of Star Hospitals. He said, Empathy, Honesty & Communication are three main qualities of an ideal nurse. One should adopt the philosophy of life-long learners and stay updated with the current practices.
Dr. Ramesh Gudapati, Joint Managing Director, Star Hospitals, said, “Nurses are the backbone of healthcare system. We, as Doctors, may prescribe the line of treatment but it is Nurses who give the ultimate care and help patients to revive their lives. They take up all the stress and do all the hard work. On this day, I would like to express my gratitude to all the nurses at Star Hospitals and across the world. Thank you for your service.”
Dr. Anthony Basile, Medical Director, Star Hospitals, said, “You are the angel who bring in happiness in the lives of patients. What you do as a Nurse is truly inspiring. Because of you, we are able to render our services. Your role will keep changing in future, we will continue to support you all the time. Thank you.”
Ms. S. Kavitha, Nursing Superintendent, Star Hospitals, said, “International Nursing Day is celebrated on the occasion of Florence Nightingale’s Birthday. Nursing has got immense recognition as a profession because of her efforts. I want to thank each and every nurse of Star Hospital for delivering stupendous service during Covid-19 Pandemic. Three waves were completely different with a unique set of challenges. We have converted wards into ICU & did every possible thing to save lives of people. This wouldn’t have been possible without your support. I appreciate and feel grateful for having such a wonderful team”.
The enriching ambience was further invigorated by the energizing performances and various cultural activities organized and performed by nursing department of the Star Hospital.
