The pandemics which affect millions of people across the world are rare occurrences. Currently, we are going through one such situation in the form of Covid-19. This unprecedented global pandemic has challenged the Civil & Healthcare system in multiple ways, particularly Doctors, Nurses, Paramedical Staff, Police Officers, Armed Forces, Disaster Management Volunteers, Municipal Workers, Civil Servants, Media Personnel etc. They all have been rendering their services relentlessly since the outbreak.

This COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging, and it has put significant pressure on our healthcare system. Right from the manufacturers of personal protective equipment to pharma industries, everyone has been working day in & day out to support society in this hour of grief. The national registry of Indian Medical Association (IMA) shows that 747 doctors have died of Covid-19. The highest number of such deaths were from Tamil Nadu (89) and West Bengal (80). New analysis by Amnesty International has found that at least 7,000 health workers have died around the world after contracting COVID-19. According to a study conducted by the Delhi-based Institute of Perception Studies, as many as 101 journalists have succumbed to COVID-19 between 1 April, 2020 and 28 April, 2021. This current second wave was unexpected, it has created additional pressure & panic in the society. Nevertheless, our healthcare workers continue to devote their time and energy to contain this pandemic. We are humbled by your immense sacrifices, invaluable dedication, commitment and unwavering efforts in managing COVID-19, oftentimes risking your own lives, for the benefit of the nation.
