Dr. Lokeswara Rao Sajja is the 4th Cardiac surgeon to be elected as the President of the IACTS from the Telugu states since its inception.

IACTS is a national body comprising of 1900+ surgeons. Cardiac surgeons are crucial in the treatment of heart disease as they specialize in performing heart surgeries. While cardiologists diagnose heart disease and manage it with medications, perform stent therapy or other non-invasive procedures, there are instances where surgical intervention is necessary, such as in the case of a blocked artery or a malfunctioning valve. This is where cardiac surgeons come in, as they are trained to perform complex heart surgeries to treat a wide range of conditions. Their expertise, skill, and experience in performing surgeries can make a significant difference in the outcome of a patient's treatment and quality of life.

As the newly elected president Dr. Sajja promises to work tirelessly to serve the Association to launch new initiatives to further advance the field of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery to greater heights.

One of the primary objectives of IACTS is to provide a platform for young surgeons to enhance their knowledge and skills through training programs, workshops, and conferences. Through its extensive network, IACTS offers its members access to a vast database of information and resources related to the field of cardiothoracic surgery, including the latest advancements in technology, best practices, and case studies. By leveraging the collective expertise of its members and providing opportunities for continuing education, IACTS plays a crucial role in advancing the quality of care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery in India.
