SAJJA HEART FOUNDATION CELEBRATES 5TH ANNUAL MEETING
Sajja Heart Foundation’s 5th annual meeting was held at Green Park Hotel, Begumpet .On the occasion of, Prof. Denton A Cooley’s 100th Birth anniversary, every year Sajja Heart Foundation organizes their Annual Meeting on 22nd August to commemorate his contributions and share valuable clinical insights amongst the members.
Eminent cardio thoracic surgeons Prof. Shiv K Choudhary, professor and HOD of cardio thoracic and vascular surgery, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. Gopichand Mannam, Managing Director, Star Hospitals graced the occasion as the Chief Guests and delivered their insightful orations.
About 100 surgeons, physicians, statisticians and practitioners attended the meeting. Dr Lokeswara rao Sajja’s commitment towards the customized research in cardiovascular diseases to suit the needs of Indian population inspired him to establish “Sajja Heart Foundation” in the year 2013. The Foundation is an independent, academically focused charitable trust, dedicated to improving the survival and quality of life of the people with heart diseases. It enables the doctors to perform clinical and basic science research in cardiovascular diseases. The mission of the foundation is to create opportunities for the development of basic and advanced research in the field of medicine, science and technology which will have a beneficial impact on the society.
Sajja Heart Foundation aims to promote quality research and publications particularly in the fields of cardiology, cardiovascular surgery and medicine from India. We encourage and empower our members for the development and adoption of cost-effective technology and treatment modalities. We aspire to aid the researchers and investigators in designing studies, data harvesting and analysis, manuscript preparation which leads to the quality publications.
The foundation has conducted India’s first randomized control trailed in cardio surgery involving several cities - Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Coimbatore, Kolkata and the results were presented at the American Association for Thoracic Surgery annual meeting 2018.
The foundation also conducted first survey in India on the usage of bilateral internal thoracic a grafting in coronary bypass surgery, the research in developing in new artificial heart valve that doesn’t require long come anti correlation is in progress all are multicentre RCT involving 13 cities across India is also authorizing.
Sajja heart foundation is in the progress of getting registered with the department of scientific and industrial research, department of health research, Indian council medical research of ministry of health and family planning govt of India which will enable the foundation to conduct several studies in heart surgery in Indian population.
