Rainbow Children Hospital announces first unit in Visakhapatnam To open 200 bed super speciality pediatric and maternity care hospital in Health City
Visakhapatnam, December 6, 2020: Rainbow Children’s Hospital and BirthRight by Rainbow, the pioneer of India’s largest pediatric hospital group, announced the launch of its first unit in Visakhapatnam today. This marks the hospital group’s 2nd unit in Andhra Pradesh and 14th unit across India.
The Visakhapatnam unit is a 200-bed ultramodern and sophisticated hospital with all specialties and subspecialties catering to child and women care. The facility has two delivery suites, two operation theatres, a 40-bed NICU, and a 16-bed PICU.
Sharing his delight on the occasion, Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman & Managing Director, Rainbow Group of Hospitals said, “I am very happy to announce the launch of our first unit in Visakhapatnam. Dr. Dinesh Kumar Chirla, Director - Intensive Care Services, on the occasion of the launch of the hospital, said: “In the last 20 years, we have treated and saved the smallest of the small and sickest of the sick babies. We have saved a prematurely born baby, who weighed just 375 grams and have sent her home safe and happy. This has proved that our standards match with any international healthcare service provider. We have also successfully pioneered the safest method to transfer children from districts within 200 kilometres to Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Delhi using our highly equipped ambulance. Now, we are aiming at extending the same facility to babies in and around Visakhapatnam as well.”
