International Clinical Trials Day Program Leads To Useful Insights
The International Clinical Trials Day is observed on 20th May every year. On this occasion, the Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) had organised events across India. The Hyderabad chapter of the ISCR conducted a special awareness program as part of this nation-wide celebration.
While a brief introduction to clinical research was given by Dr Ramesh, the Director and Head of Clinical Development at Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Dr Sesikeran, a former Director of the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) delved into the topic of ethics in research.
The regulatory framework related to conducting clinical research was subsequently explained by Dr Dinesh Kumar, the Senior Deputy Director of the NIN.
By the end of the discussion, everyone had come to agree that patient safety is to be kept as the highest priority in clinical trials. Moreover, it was also agreed that it was the need of the hour to create more awareness among all stakeholders.
