DOCTORS AT MEDICOVER SAVE A WOMAN LIFE BY EXTRACTING A RARE TUMOR IN ABDOMEN JUST IN TIME

Satyavati, A 65-year old female patient from Interior district of Telangana, presented with complaints of chest pain, abdominal pain, vomiting and fever. On examination, it was found that the patient has a large tumor measuring 20 cms in the abdomen region which must have developed over past few months. It s a rare condition that the tumor was attached to the diaphragm, Liver, large bowel, and the right kidney was pushed downwards.

This is an extremely rare condition and occurs one in a lakh. The condition was an alarming one and if neglected, the tumor could have ruptured causing life-threatening complications or turn into malignancy.

After a detailed evaluation, the patient was planned for diagnostic laparoscopy. The tumor was separated from liver, diaphragm, large boweland right kidney during the procedure. The entire tumor was completely excised without any post-operative complications and the patient was discharged on POD5 after complete recovery.
