The theme for World TB Day 2024 is "Yes! We Can End TB". The theme conveys a sense of hope that the TB epidemic can be turned around . The theme also focuses on the following areas:
Access to new rapid molecular diagnosis
TB prevention
TB in children
Strengthening, funding Communities, Rights and Gender (CRG), social protection, and ending stigma TB is one of the world's deadliest diseases, and recent years have seen an increase in drug-resistant TB. The disease is preventable and curable, but still claims 4,100 lives each day and close to 27,000 people fall ill with it worldwide. shorter TB treatment regimens, rapid molecular diagnostics and tests for TB infection, other innovations and digital tools will lead to improvements in health outcomes and save millions of lives. Importantly, investments in research and innovation are vital to fast-track efforts to reach the end TB targets.
