Nova IVF Fertility Hosts Fertility Conference to highlight Trends in Assisted Reproductive Technology
Nova IVF Fertility, a leading fertility chain hosted a fertility conference in Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai that addressed recent advancements in assisted reproductive technology (ART). Around 200-250 prominent gynecologists, and fertility experts, were present at the conference. The event was graced by Padma Shri Dr Indira Hinduja and MOGS (The Mumbai Obstetric & Gynaecological Society), President Dr Suvarna Khadilkar.
Most often there is a misconception that IVF is successful at the first attempt. The success rate of IVF depends on multiple factors like the quality of the sperm and egg, the age of the woman, lifestyle factors, factors impacting ART success rates, and the role of laboratory innovations. Dr Rohit Gutgutia, Medical Director at Nova IVF Fertility highlighted "Thanks to technological advancements, lab innovations, and comprehensive lifestyle support, our success rates in IVF and related treatments continue to improve, with 40-50% but now is reaching up to 70% in some cases across our centers. Along with the expertise of the lab and clinicians, healthy lifestyle choices of the couple, such as a balanced diet, regular exercise, and stress management, are crucial for improving fertility outcomes.”
The challenges associated with repeated IVF failures are age, genetic disorders, and other underlying issues. The main reasons for repeated IVF failure could be chromosomal abnormalities in the embryos, uterine abnormalities, endometrial receptivity, lifestyle factors, and immunological causes.
Dr Sulbha Arora, Clinical Director at Nova IVF Fertility, Mumbai, discussed “About 1 in 10 patients may face repeated IVF failure where there is no pregnancy after 3 or more embryo transfers. Women above the age of 35 are more likely to face repeated IVF failure due to a decline in egg quantity and quality after this age. To improve implantation chances, most often we recommend, taking antioxidants for improving egg and sperm quality, assessing the uterus, and advanced techniques like preimplantation genetic testing for embryo selection. There are also techniques like the ERA test (Endometrium receptivity test) which can determine the best time to implant an embryo to reduce the chances of IVF failure. Advanced sperm selection and immunological therapies may enhance implantation chances.”.
The conference witnessed participation from Nova IVF’s key fertility specialists such as Dr. Sandeep Mane, Dr. Ritu Hinduja, Dr. Sneha Sathe, Dr. Avantika Vaze, and Dr. Soumya Shetty. Nova IVF’s Head of Embryology, Dr. Sujatha Ramakrishnan, discussed what a gynecologist should know about Embryology.
The goal of this conference was to provide understanding and support for couples dealing with infertility, emphasizing that it is a shared responsibility that affects both men and women equally. Nova IVF Fertility is a comprehensive fertility treatment center, that has well-equipped labs with the latest technologies and follows international standards for delivering fertility treatments.
