I Am and I Will Continental Hospitals organizes Cancer Survivors Meet to create awareness in the society
Continental Hospitals, one of the leading healthcare providers in the city, today organized a cancer survivors’ meet to create awareness in the society and to mark World Cancer Day 2020. A total of 20 survivors who were treated by the Doctors at the Continental Hospitals and who have overcome the ailment were present on the occasion.
Organized under the international theme ‘I Am & I Will’the meet up of cancer survivors aimed at showcasing the resilience shown by those who fought with adversity and show that anyone with a strong will can overcome cancer.
It is popularly said that when it comes to cancer, ignorance kills, and awareness empowers! During the awareness meet, Doctors at Continental Hospitals spoke about detecting cancer at an early stage as the first step towards saving lives.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rahul Medakkar, CEO, Continental Hospitals said, “Continental Hospitals is well equipped to help detect any form of ailments, even grave cancers, at an early stage. The meet is part of our continued efforts to enhance awareness about healthy living in the society at large, and among the vulnerable individuals in particular. The event witnessed the cancer survivors sharing their battle against cancer true to the theme ‘I Am & I Will’. Representative from various corporates and communities joined the event to share their support for cancer survivors and cancer patients on their journey.
A cancer survivor Mr Anmol speaking at the meet said, "Healthy living practice and right dietary habits coupled with Doctor's advice will help us battle the cancers in our body. I trusted my Doctor at the Continental Hospitals and today am standing before you as someone who had won over the ailment."
"I was someone who was scared of even an injection, and undergoing a surgery for cancer cure was beyond me. Yet, it was the confidence i received from the Doctors at the Continental Hospitals, and the affection of my family that helped me fight to survive," said Poonam, a cancer survivor.
