Cardiologists Must Keep Themselves Updated

 

KIMS Hospitals, themultispecialty healthcare chain, Cardiology department has conducted the 13th Cardiology Update progamme, an educative workshop for cardiologists, held as part of their continuous medical education. 

 

The interactive sessions included didactic lectures on cardiac treatments with topics including ECG interpretation, Dysrhythmias, cardiothoracic surgery basics, anatomy and cardiovascular interventions and role of CMRI.


Dr Dayasagar Rao, senior cardiologist stressed on the need for cardiologists to stay updated constantly and improve their skills and knowledge in the wake of changing trends and growing challenge in cardiac sciences and ailment and treatment complexities. “The technology is rapidly changing and the scientific knowledge is growing fast too making it imperative to doctors to update and deliver the appropriate and effective treatment. This three-day session was highly important and educative to the cardiologists who have attended from various states,” Dr Rao said.

 

Dr B Bhaskar Rao, managing director and chief executive officer of KIMS Hospitals said that the institution was always forefront in conduction knowledge update and skill development programs. “This program is an attempt to provide latest updates to 150 doctors across the country. Uniqueness of the program is 90% of the cardiology updates happening the country are procedure (Surgery) based and this program is based on clinical skills (medical) and it is one of its kind. This CME will have Clinical Case Discussions and Student - Faculty Interactive Sessions along with lectures by faculty,” Dr BhaskarRao, who is an eminent CT surgeon himself, elaborated. Doctors for Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Pune and Odisha attended the CME.
