Allengers Medical System Limited today became the first Indian company to launch their Digital Mammography Machine with 3D Tomosynthesis.The Digital Mammography Machine with 3D Tomosynthesis was launched on 16th November 2019 by Mr. R K Narang, Executive Director, Allengers Medical Systems at the 7th Annual conference of Breast Imaging Society of India (BISICON-2019) being held in Marriott Hotel, Hyderabad between 15th-17thNovember 2019.

 

The other dignitaries present at the launch were Dr. Laszlo Tabar, the world-renowned  radiologist in Mammography Imaging from Sweden; Mr. R.K. Panda, National Sales Manager, Allengers Medical Systems Limited; and, renowned Radiologists Dr. N. Khandelwal, Dr. Jwala Srikala and Dr. Meenakshi Thakur.Mr. R K Narang, Ex. The Digital Mammography Machine with 3D Tomosynthesis will be available across Hospitals in India leading to faster, more accurate detection thereby helping the patients. The machine uses low-dose X-ray to detect cancer early when it is most treatable. The introduction of the Digital mammography Machine with 3D Tomosynthesis will lead to fewer false alarms and the chances of detecting breast cancer increase manifold. The machine is particularly helpful for detecting cancer in dense tissue and for invasive cancers where it is 40% more effective.

 

Because screening tomosynthesis can serve to both pinpoint and characterize abnormalities, additional testing is reduced, avoiding radiation exposure and costs. Furthermore, the better performance of 3D tomosynthesis compared with 2D digital mammography means that fewer women need earlier follow-up tests.
