  4. Staying hydrated is crucial for athletes who sweat profusely
  5. Limit or cut out soft drinks and sodas from your diet as these foods are often high in sugar which is bad for teeth, bones and joints.
  6. Keep healthy snacks on hand in order to avoid the temptation of unhealthy choices
  7. Try to maintain a consistent sleep schedule. It can be tough for athletes who train at odd hours, but getting the recommended eight hours of sleep each night will help them stay on top of their game!
  8. Try to avoid any strenuous activity for 24 hours after a game or practice
  9. Get plenty of rest during weekends
